Plan Now, Save Money!

As much as we have enjoyed the summer, the holidays will be here before we know it.  For those planning to go visiting over the holidays, you might want to take a look at the airline deals now while they last. This has been another difficult year for carriers, and seat capacity, in general, is at an all-time low. What that means is during peak holiday travel, airlines will be looking at getting the most revenue for those available seats.

United and American, as well as U.S. Airways and Delta, just announced that they will be charging $10.00 surcharges on their busiest travel dates which are November 29, the Sunday after Thanksgiving, and January 2 and 3. Might not seem like much money unless youre buying 4 or 5 tickets, then it adds up.

But, on the positive side, average fares are down between 15 and 20 percent from last year. So this may be the year to go to the in-laws for the holidays and let them make the dinners!

Happy bargain hunting!
