A Better Way To Go Akron Canton Airport

Columbus Day is a REAL holiday

As I visited ticket counters this morning, I noticed that daily bookings were really high. Delighted, I began to brainstorm with the airline ticket agents about why we were so darn busy. Then it hit me…Columbus Day!

Next Monday we celebrate the arrival of Christopher Columbus, who sailed the ocean blue in 1492, and arrived somewhere near the US, a Bahamian Island I believe. Eventually the three Spanish ships reached America and I guess that was our lucky day. I feel doubly lucky about Columbus Day. Why? Because the airport is an Ohio government subdivision, meaning we are off next Monday!

I wonder if a lot of people are celebrating the big US holiday with an extended weekend vacation. Our AirTran flights to Boston, New York and Florida certainly were full. Frontier to Denver was nicely packed as well. Come to think of it, US Airways to Washington D.C. was full too. So bon voyage CAK travelers! We'll see you back next Tuesday.
