Free Bicycle Assembly Area Available at CAK

Creating a friendly welcome to traveling cyclists

Traveling bicyclists will now be able to assemble their bikes upon arrival at the Akron-Canton Airport (CAK).

In partnership with Northeast Ohio Safe Trails and Roads (NEOSTAR), CAK has installed the unique amenity within baggage claim alongside cycling resources for Northeast Ohio’s great trails.

As the nearest airport to Summit County’s Great American Rail-Trail entry point, the bike assembly will allow travelers an opportunity to connect into the eastern portion of the 3,700+ mile trail.

“We’re always exploring ways to make the travel experience easy for our Customers,” said Ren Camacho, President and CEO of the Akron-Canton Airport. “With a growing interest in health and fitness, we’re confident this amenity will be used by both our travelers and employees. We appreciate NEOSTAR’s dedication to bringing this useful feature to the community.”

The free assembly area opens September 20th and is available to all travelers, employees or community members needing to assemble or repair a bike.

Neighboring hotel Hilton Garden Inn is offering free shuttle service and low-cost storage for passengers transporting their bicycles and carriers.
