In Flight Entertainment Music Festival Takes Off This Weekend

Connecting Friends and Family through Music

GREEN, OH - The Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) is teaming up with 91.3 The Summit to bring people together, virtually, this weekend.

“We invite our friends and neighbors to join CAK and 91.3 The Summit as we enjoy a night of music together, while apart,” said Ren Camacho, President and CEO of CAK. “Although we miss seeing all of our customers through the airport, we’re still dedicated to connecting them to family and friends.”

Viewers can check-in for the in flight entertainment on Saturday, June 13th from 4:00PM – 9:00PM EST, right on the Akron-Canton Airport’s Facebook page. Five local musicians will perform live from their homes, including:

  • Corey Jenkins
  • Shelby Olive
  • Cody J. Martin
  • Gretchen Pleuss
  • Hey Monea

“When folks are ready to travel for in-person entertainment and connection, we’ll be here,” said Camacho. “We hope when that time comes, they’ll keep us in mind. Until then, we look forward to spreading happiness virtually.”

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Airport experienced a temporary suspension in some air service tied to the shutdown of various states and countries, but as the demand for travel picks back up, customers can find their favorite flights at CAK again through the summer and beyond.

For those ready to travel now, they can find flights to and from CAK on their favorite airline’s website or their favorite online travel website. Even though customers will not find live music in the terminal quite yet, they can rest assure that it will be an enhanced, healthy travel experience from their hometown airport.
