YeeHaw! We’re Heading to Houston

United Airlines inaugurates nonstop flights between Akron-Canton Airport and Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport

Green, OH: United Airlines has inaugurated nonstop service from Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) to Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), United’s premier gateway to Latin America. The daily flight reduces travel times to Texas’ largest city by over two hours versus connecting flights.

“We are thrilled to welcome CAK’s very first route to and from Texas in the airport’s 72-year history,” said Rick McQueen, President and CEO of the Akron-Canton Airport. “Houston is the connection our community needs to Texas and beyond. It is now easier than ever to quickly access Dallas-Ft. Worth, San Diego, New Orleans, Cozumel and Mexico City through this robust United hub. Both leisure and business travelers will enjoy the opportunities this flight brings to the region.”

Schedule:

CAK-IAH flight #4188
Depart - 6:54 a.m; Arrive - 8:55 a.m.

IAH-CAK flight #4269
Depart - 6:30 p.m; Arrive - 10:21 p.m.

“United Airlines is proud to continue our 70 year relationship with our customers in the Akron-Canton with our new nonstop service to Houston,” said Ankit Gupta, United’s vice president of Domestic Network Planning. “Our new service to Houston offers customers convenient access to more than 100 destinations and brings the West Coast, Southeast, and Latin America closer to Akron-Canton than ever before.”

This new route is a key asset to continued business synergies in the Akron-Canton region. While this route isn’t new to Northeast Ohio, it will now allow travelers closest to CAK to save both time and money with reduced travel time.

In addition to the new service, United also offers daily, nonstop flights from CAK to Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) and New York/Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). Flights can be booked on united.com, through a travel management company or through a favorite online booking website.
