Akron-Canton Airport Announces New Daily Nonstop Service to Las Vegas and Myrtle Beach

Green, OH: Pack your bags and head to the Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) because customers can now enjoy nonstop service to Las Vegas and Myrtle Beach aboard Spirit Airlines! The carrier will begin new, daily nonstop flights to McCarran International Airport (LAS) and Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) today. Whether your ideal vacation includes rolling the dice and enjoying the nightlife, or soaking up the sun with your toes in the sand, you can experience it when you fly Spirit Airlines from CAK.

“Las Vegas is the most requested leisure travel destination that we weren’t servicing, so we’re thrilled to add it to our lineup of nonstop flights aboard Spirit Airlines. In addition, we’re excited that Spirit began service to Myrtle Beach, a family favorite, as another daily, nonstop destination from CAK,” said Rick McQueen, President and CEO of Akron-Canton Airport. “We enjoy working with Spirit to bring new vacation options to our customers at affordable fares, and look forward to seeing our community take advantage of these new opportunities.”

To celebrate these new destinations, CAK and Spirit officials will host launch parties for passengers of the inaugural flights, along with a press conference highlighting the new service. Customers can enjoy destination-themed treats and fun activities at their gate, and begin their vacation before they even leave the airport.

“We are thrilled to deliver this nonstop service to two of the country’s most popular summer destinations,” said Mark Kopczak, Vice President of Network Planning for Spirit Airlines. “These new flights, combined with our existing service to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando, give Akron-Canton even more ultra-low cost options for summer travel.”

With this new service to LAS and MYR, Spirit now offers nonstop flights to six destinations from CAK, including four popular Florida locations: Orlando, Ft. Lauderdale, Ft. Myers and Tampa.
