Akron-Canton Airport Bids Farewell to US Airways

Green, Ohio:  After decades of successful service, the Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) will say goodbye to the final US Airways® operated flight this Friday, October 16, 2015. All US Airways flights from that point on will be aboard American Airlines® and be available for purchase at www.aa.com.The final US Airways operated flight is scheduled to depart CAK for Charlotte Douglas International Airport at 7:59 p.m., Friday night. American will continue service to all routes formerly operated by US Airways at CAK including five daily flights to Charlotte (CLT), one daily flight to Washington D.C. (DCA), and three daily departures to Philadelphia (PHL).
“It is the end of one successful chapter and the beginning of a new one,” said President and CEO Rick McQueen. “We are proud of US Airway’s long legacy at Akron-Canton and look forward to a very bright future with American Airlines.”
Additionally, beginning November 6, 2015, American will commence new nonstop flights to New York (LGA) from Akron-Canton. The new flight is perfectly timed for day trips in and out of New York City. It departs at 7:27 a.m. and will return at 6:22 p.m.
Customers traveling on or after October 17, 2015, aboard American will enjoy a seamless travel experience including a single reservations number, website, mobile app and a single set of travel policies. Customers are encouraged to visit aa.com for more information.
