Green, OH: Grizwald, the loveable bear spokesanimal for Frontier Airlines became the 500th member of the Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) Facebook group today helping achieve an impressive milestone. And because Griz was so excited, he is giving away two tickets on Frontier Airlines.

"Frontier Airlines offers the best service out west, bar none. Plus, their spokesanimals love Facebook just like we do," said Kristie Van Auken, Sr. Vice-President and Chief Marketing & Communications Officer. "Our Facebook group connects us with amazing younger customers and animals like Grizwald. How cool is that?"

Griz is one of more than 60 Frontier animals who appear on the tails of each aircraft. He also has a starring role as a spokesanimal in the airline's commercials. He even has his own Facebook page.

"We continue to enjoy our close partnership with CAK and bringing low fares to Denver and the west for Northeast Ohio customers," said Steve Snyder, spokesman for Frontier Airlines. "Griz was excited to become Akron-Canton Airport's 500th Facebook group member. This is quite a distinction for him and Frontier. But it did cause a bit of unrest among the other animals. Flip the Dolphin is lobbying for his own Facebook page. And Jack the Rabbit and Foxy the Fox are crying foul because they were out of town on a ski trip and did not even know about it."

CAK was one of the first airports in the country to start utilizing the popular social networking site Facebook in 2007. Since then, the CAK group has continued to grow with users from not only Northeast Ohio but all around the U.S. offering their opinions on a broad range of topics like favorite destinations and customer amenities. Users are also able to participate in CAK's contests and giveaways for Facebook members only.

As a case in point, to celebrate our 500th member, Griz is giving away one roundtrip ticket voucher for TWO PEOPLE from Akron-Canton Airport to any Frontier destination in the continental U.S.

All you have to do is head over to the CAK group page and post a message on the wall welcoming Griz to the group. We'll choose a winner from the postings and you'll be off to Denver or any U.S. city served by Frontier. You must be a member of the Akron-Canton Airport group so find it here at http://groups.to/akroncantonairport/ and join!
