Open daily from 4:30 am to 30 minutes after the last scheduled flight. For flights after these hours, check with the airline locally.
Hours are subject to change due to airline schedules. Passengers should always arrive 90 minutes prior to originally schedule departure to ensure they are through security screening for departure.
Delayed flights do not prevent security from closing 30 minutes after the last flight's originally scheduled departure time.
Rules & Tips for TSA Screening
- Passengers may bring liquid hand sanitizer containers up to 12 oz. in their carry-on bag
- Consolidate bottles into one bag and X-ray separately to speed screening.
- Be prepared. Each time TSA searches a carry-on, it slows down the line. Practicing 3-1-1 will ensure a faster and easier checkpoint experience.
- 3-1-1 is for short trips. If in doubt, put your liquids in checked luggage.
- Declare larger liquids. Medications, baby formula and food, and breast milk are allowed in reasonable quantities exceeding three ounces and are not required to be in the zip-top bag. Declare these items for inspection at the checkpoint.
- Come early and be patient. Heavy travel volumes and the enhanced security process may mean longer lines at security checkpoints.
- TSA works with our airline and airport partners to anticipate peak traffic and be ready for the traveling public.
- While security lines are short, Akron-Canton Airport is proud to offer TSA Pre✓™ for travelers.
3-1-1 Rule for Carry-Ons
All liquids, gels and aerosols must be in 3.4 ounce (100ml) or smaller containers. Larger containers that are half-full or toothpaste tubes rolled up are not allowed. Each container must be 3.4 ounces (100ml) or smaller.
All liquids, gels and aerosols must be placed in a single, quart-size, zip-top, clear plastic bag. Gallon-size bags or bags that are not zip-top, such as fold-over sandwich bags are not allowed. Each traveler can use only one, quart-size, zip-top, clear plastic bag.
Each traveler must remove their quart-sized plastic, zip-top bag from their carry-on and place it in a bin or on the conveyor belt for X-ray screening. X-raying separately will allow TSA security officers to more easily examine the declared items.
