Akron-Canton Airport Announces Expanded Daily Service to Charlotte and Chicago in May 2026
Additional nonstop flights on American Airlines and United Airlines provide more schedule flexibility and expanded global connectivity
GREEN, OH – Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) is pleased to announce expanded nonstop service to two of its most important hub markets beginning May 2026, further strengthening connectivity for Northeast Ohio travelers.
American Airlines will add a fifth daily nonstop flight to Charlotte (CLT), while United Airlines will introduce a fifth daily nonstop flight to Chicago O’Hare (ORD). All flights are available for booking now.
The additional frequencies offer travelers more schedule flexibility and improved access to dozens of domestic and international destinations beyond each hub.
United Airlines’ new fifth daily flight to Chicago O’Hare includes a convenient midday departure from CAK at noon, providing added flexibility and access to one of United’s largest banks of connecting flights to top destinations across the country and around the world. The expanded service also includes a 7:30 a.m. departure from Chicago, arriving at CAK just after 10:00 a.m., offering a strong option for travelers connecting from late-night and early-morning arrivals from the West Coast and Hawaii.
American Airlines’ expanded service to Charlotte adds an afternoon departure from CAK at 3:00 p.m. and a late-morning arrival from CLT at 11:15 a.m., creating additional options for both leisure and business travelers. The added frequency enhances connectivity to numerous domestic destinations and key international markets, including Munich and Frankfurt, supporting the needs of the region’s business community.
