This achievement highlights the airport’s growth and momentum, as CAK has not only surpassed pre-pandemic passenger levels across all carriers but also reached a record number of nonstop destinations never before served from the airport.
“Reaching 24 nonstop destinations is a testament to the strong partnerships we have with our airlines and the growing loyalty travelers have with CAK,” said Ren Camacho, President and CEO of the Akron-Canton Airport. “With the return of key routes and the addition of new, first-time destinations, we’re building even more opportunities for Northeast Ohio to connect with the places people want to go most.”
This milestone caps off a year of expansion and success. Earlier this fall, CAK celebrated the inaugural flight to Daytona Beach (DAB), a brand-new destination from Akron-Canton, plus the return of popular service to West Palm Beach (PBI).
“This year, we’ve added 28% more seats and 24% more flights than in 2024, and early next year we expect an even bigger jump with 45% more flights and 50% more seats in Q1 2026,” said Lisa Dalpiaz, VP of Air Service and Business Development. “It’s clear our airline partners recognize the growing demand at CAK, and we’re excited to continue creating more travel opportunities for our community.”
Most recently, additional service to American Airlines’ Midwest hub, Chicago O’Hare (ORD), further enhances CAK’s air service portfolio by opening access to hundreds of one-stop destinations worldwide.

This service, once offered pre-pandemic, enhances connectivity for business and leisure travelers alike, offering access to one of American’s major hubs and onward connections to hundreds of domestic and international destinations.
“Our new service to Chicago O’Hare (ORD) opens the door for Akron-Canton travelers to connect more easily to American’s expansive global network,” said Ben Humphrey, Vice President of American’s ORD Operations. “By traveling through one of our largest and most connected hubs, customers gain access to over 150 destinations worldwide, making it easier to do business across continents or plan the perfect vacation getaway.”
The schedule features morning and evening departures from CAK, providing flexibility and convenience for travelers. Flights are operated aboard the comfortable, dual-class CRJ700 aircraft.
In addition to Chicago, American also offers nonstop service from CAK to Charlotte (CLT) and Washington, D.C. (DCA).
