There’s no doubt about it, moms are superheroes! From booking that theme park vacation to making sure everyone has shoes on, they’ve got it handled. On February 27th, the Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) is lending a hand to traveling moms by offering a full-experience airport tour.

The CAK Moms Tour is designed to help alleviate anxiety parents have while traveling with little ones because, just like moms, CAK wants to do everything possible to make the journey easy-breezy.

“An exceptional, enjoyable Customer experience is our top priority here at CAK,” said Lisa Dalpiaz, Akron-Canton Airport Director of Marketing. “We recognize there are a lot of new parents in our community who feel intimidated or stressed by the notion of flying with children, and we see the opportunity to turn what could be a stressful experience into an extremely memorable one.”

On the agenda, moms will practice parking, riding the shuttle bus, airline check-in with infants, security screening with baby gear, and wayfinding through the airport to their gates. During the tour, representatives from Spirit Airlines and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will cover common questions, such as “Do I have to pay to check my stroller?” and “Does formula and milk fall under the 3.4 oz rule?”

“We offer flights to wonderful, family-friendly vacation destinations like Orlando, Myrtle Beach, Ft. Lauderdale and more, so it’s with great pride that our airport is designed to make families feel comfortable while they’re here,” said Rick McQueen, President and CEO of Akron-Canton Airport. “This tour will help highlight the ease of flying CAK and the accessibility our community has to memorable vacations at affordable fares.”

The first-of-its-kind tour is planned to be held twice a year, with room to grow based on demand. Parents can find a permanent Flying with Children resource guide on akroncantonairport.com in the next week, and are encouraged to ask questions and share their family-friendly ideas with the airport.
