Akron-Canton Airport breaks all-time passenger record

It doesn’t really matter how you say thanks, the Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) couldn’t feel more grateful towards the 154,772 Customers who traveled to/from CAK during the month of July. This monthly record also marks the best month in the airport’s 64-year history, set just last month (June 2011).Compared to July 2010, the airport hosted nearly 8,000 more passengers this year, a 5.4 percent increase.

Passengers aboard AirTran Airways, a wholly owned subsidiary of Southwest Airlines, increased 4.9 percent compared to June 2010 carrying 73,700 passengers to six nonstop destinations including Orlando, Tampa, Atlanta, New York and Boston. Delta Air Lines, offering nonstop flights to Atlanta and Detroit, was up 20 percent compared to last year. United Express, with flights to Chicago O’Hare, was up 6.4 percent.
