WiFi On Every Plane!

Posted on 05/14/2009

The great news just came out today that AirTran is putting WiFi on its entire fleet of 717's and 737's. Talk about a great airline just adding one more great reason to fly them! This really is wow! It will be the first domestic airline to equip its planes with this wonderful product. It's a huge investment to make. The approximate cost to do each plane is $100,000.00; take that times 136 aircraft and you’re talking commitment! USA Today news recently reported this on its aviation web site.

Think of how wonderful this will be for the adults, as well as keeping the kids occupied. There will be a small fee for the service, somewhere between $7.95 and $12.95, depending on the length of the flight. But, that‘s the way it should be. If you don’t have a reason to use it, you don’t pay for it. I really believe that this will set a new bar for the other carriers to follow. It’s the reason we offer free WiFi at CAK. We wanted to set the standard for what customers should expect from their airport. Speaking of AirTran, they have some terrific rates now if you can travel on a Tuesday or Wednesday. Check it out at http://www.airtran.com/, Trust me, the kids don’t care what day they travel, they just want to go!

Also, Frontier just announced a fare sale. They have some rockbottom prices out west for the summer. I believe this sale ends soon, so hurry.  www.frontierairlines.com.
