Who needs the Snow?

I thought it might be of interest to some of you what a difference this mild winter has made to our operation at CAK. Usually this time of year our field maintenance crew has been working like dogs to keep our runways clear of snow and ice. With these mild temperatures we have saved probably 400 to 500 hundred man hours of time not spent on snow removal. Our guys and gals are responsible for the runways as well as all roadways leading out to public highways. Several hundred tons of salt usually have been spread by now and 4 to 5 hundred gallons of fuel have been saved because of our weather. The savings for us are huge but as our chief of field maintenance, Jeff states,” sure it’s been quiet but you never know what’s around the corner.”  That’s a guy that has seen it all over 30 years of service at CAK. We’re proud of the great job they do to keep our facility safe.

On another note, I recently returned from a short trip to Phoenix to see the National Championship, let’s not talk about the results, but it certainly was easy getting there. Frontier has great schedule times to get you to Phoenix in the mid morning so you can enjoy the day. The return also allows you a afternoon trip to the airport when the security lines are shorter. It’s a great time of year to visit the desert, the temperatures are mild and the sun frequent, give it a try. And for the Buckeyes, thanks for a great season, your true blue fans still love ya!
