What can CAK bring to Youngstown?
Posted on 10/11/2007
The Chamber of Commerce in Youngstown rocks! CAK recently joined and we are really impressed. We participated in their recent business fair and not only was it well organized, it was well attended. It gave us the opportunity to tell our story one-on-one to business travelers in the eastern flank of the Cleveland + region.
Elizabeth, CAK business fair spokesperson, said that folks responded well to our message. What is our message you might ask? Well, why put up with the hassle of a big, congested airport when CAK is just as close, offers the lowest average fare in Ohio or Pennsylvania, and really cares about providing a relaxing customer experience.
Our airlines also cater to small business travelers. AirTran Airways offers more nonstop flights from Akron-Canton than they do from any other airport close to Youngstown; including Atlanta, Boston, New York LaGuardia, Las Vegas, Orlando, Tampa, and Ft. Myers. They fly only big comfy jets with free XM Satellite radio and business class seating on every flight. They also have a very cool business travel program called A2B. You can earn quick free trips and other amenities from this program.
Frontier Airlines is also great for small business travelers. Their business program is called BTP (business travel program) and they offer a three percent rebate on every trip taken from CAK to the West. They hub in Denver which is one of the best connecting hubs in the U.S. From Denver you can easily reach your favorite westbound destinations (LA, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Phoenix, etc…) and lots of cool Mexico destinations. Every Frontier flight from CAK is aboard big new Airbus jets with LiveTV in every seatback. Once you fly Frontier out west, you’ll never go back to another carrier. They are that good.
Flying doesn’t have to be a drag… think great airlines, free Wi-Fi, complimentary business lounge, easy drive with cool jazz tunes (down load a few for free from our relaxation station), and affordable parking close to the terminal. Nirvana…maybe not quite…but it does sound a bit heavenly, don’t you think?

Happy New Years to my neighbors out at Akron/Canton. Continue the tremendous work you do at your airport. Most airports are jealous of how well you have grown in just a 10 year span, and will continue growing in the future. I have flown it 10+ times in the last couple years, and will continue using it.
Right now my coalition of Airport Supporters are trying to help out the struggling Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport. They have done a successful job with flights to Orlando aboard Allegiant Air (ALGT-Nasdaq), but they have not done much since then.
YNG needs to look at how well CAK has done over the years and perhaps take some tips from you guys. You run a very successful operation and should be commended for IT! You earn my award for the best airport in Ohio and the best operation of any government funded operation in the region.
GOOD LUCK IN 2007!
