Speed dating our airlines
You have probably heard about those speed dating parties where 20- somthings quickly learn a few choice tidbits about potential suitors, right? Well that’s the basic idea behind a couple of airport/ airline conferences I attend every year.
I’m in St. Petersburg, Florida, at Network 2007 schmoozing with airlines and catching up with my buds in the biz. We met with three airlines today, in the hopes of securing new routes and/ or strengthening old ones. We’ve had good luck so far (no now announcements…yet) and I’m hopeful that 2007 will bring a few most excellent announcements.
My fellow Northeast Ohioans may be glad to know that it is unseasonably cool down here in the land of palm trees and endless beaches. Oh well, at least the sun is out and our outlook is bright with our airline partners.

I love the "airline speed dating" concept. I had no idea that kind of thing went on when airports and airlines are making deals. These blogs are a great idea--they really give a "face" to CAK. Hope some more people will find and read them!
