Southern Skyways nonstop CAK-MYR
Posted on 01/24/2008
Good news family travelers! If you want to go to Myrtle Beach this summer you can fly nonstop from CAK aboard Southern Skyways. Here’s the best part… kids fly free if you book your tickets before Feb 29, 2008! Fares start at only $79 each way; that’s a pretty good deal if you ask me.
The flights will run on Thursdays and Sundays beginning May 22 and running pretty much through Labor Day. Mark and I may take our kiddies to Myrtle Beach. Why not? Happy travels!

Myrtle Beach can be expensive, especially during peak season. There are a few airports nearby...like Charleston, SC (about 1 1/2 hour drive to Myrtle Beach) that you may also want to check.

Is there any discussion whether Southern Skyways may expand to CAK in 2009? Had a CAK to MYR flight scheduled in 2008, only to have it cancelled. This would be an ideal route for many from this area!

Hi Barb,
Because it is a blog, I don't remove posts. We are so sorry about your unfortunate experience with Southern Skyways. I actually had booked tickets on them too, and had a similar experience.
Fuel prices are so out of control that they just couldn't keep up with escalating costs. I know it doesn't give you your vacation back...but at least it is an explaination.
Regards, Kristie

You must be kidding me! You still have this advertisement on the web? I booked two different sets of flights with you for two different vacations that were ruined because you cancelled the flights within 4 weeks of the vacation. And I even called after the May flights were cancelled to make sure the June flights would still be going and you assured me that those would be just fine. If I had known in May that the June flights would also have been cancelled I could have possibly made other arrangements. When I got the e-mail regarding the cancellation in June, I did try to get the other flights leaving from PA or Colunbus, those were going to cost $400. There were no cheap flights. This is not an honorable way to run a business. Many people work very hard all very and save very hard to get to take a vacation each year and you ruined many of those dreams. Please remove your ad from the web and don't disappoint other families who think they can afford to fly on a vacation.
Very sincerely,
Barb Betz
