Off to Denver

Posted on 02/18/2008

Don’t try calling me at the office tomorrow, because I’ll be in Denver, CO, for the next two days. Rick and I are going out there to have a little one-on-one time with Mike Boyd and Team. Mike is a big thinker. Some would say he’s an idea guy. One thing is for sure… he can tell a great joke. I have to wear waterproof mascara because I usually laugh so hard I cry.

Well any way, we took a trip like this about eight years back; we wanted to imagine what a little airport south of Cleveland could do. Well, Mike helped us see a bigger role in Northeast Ohio’s economy. He gave us an important nudge. We didn’t follow his road map point-to-point; this business is too crazy for that type of accuracy, but we did accomplish the passenger goal that he originally thought we could achieve. We welcomed around 1.4 million folks last year; up from about half million when we first visited Mike.

It is time to dream big again. We want to serve this region for the long haul. That means stepping outside of the box, opening our minds to new potential and charting the next journey. Of course, part of this must be done on the beautiful slopes of the Rockies.

Wish me luck at ski school…

Congratulations on the additional Frontier frequency, just announced. It looks like your trip to Denver was VERY fruitful!

Tell Mike Boyd to take you to The Fort Restaurant in Morrison, CO. You can have your pick of wild game like rattlesnake, bison, etc. It is truly a Colorado experience.

While there, encourage the good folks at Frontier to increase flights to CAK. We are big fans of their service!
