Green, OH: Spring break travelers gave a big boost to passenger figures at Akron-Canton Airport (CAK).
Nearly 136,000 passengers traveled to and from CAK, making it the airport's busiest March of all time. That figure is up 11 percent compared to 2009 and beats the airport's previous best March by 5,873 passengers which was in 2006. For the first three months of the year, more than 347,000 passengers traveled to/from CAK, a 7.3 percent increase compared to 2009.

Green, OH:Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) and leaders from throughout the region welcomed Randy Babbitt, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Administrator, to the airport this morning. The administrator made a special trip to the airport to deliver a $16.625 million check to Airport Trustees and President and CEO Rick McQueen, to complete the vital runway 5/23 safety upgrade and extension project. When finished, runway 5/23 will be 8,200 feet long with ILS landing systems at both ends.

Green, OH: Record snow and freezing temperatures haven't cooled things down at Akron-Canton Airport (CAK). Customers from throughout the region helped CAK sizzle this January. Nearly 107,000 passengers traveled to and from CAK during the month, making it the airport's busiest January of all time.
