Green, OH: More and more travelers across Northeast Ohio are getting happy at Akron-Canton Airport (CAK). New flight options and low fares attracted more than 147,300 passengers to and from CAK in June, making it the airport's busiest June of all time. Green, OH:Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) not only makes a big impact on travelers, we make a big impact in the community. In 2008, the airport's total economic impact in the region exceeded $398 million. That figure was determined by a recently completed economic impact report commissioned and conducted by the airport authority. In addition to the economic impact figure, the airport contributes to and helps sustain 2,244 jobs in the region, making it one of the top 25 employers in Summit County.

Green, OH:More flights to cool destinations provided a big boost in passenger traffic at Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) in May. More than 135,100 passengers traveled to and from CAK that month, making it the airport's busiest May of all time. That figure is up 11 percent compared to 2009 and beats the airport's previous best May by 9,718 passengers which was in 2006. For the first five months of the year, 609,469 passengers traveled to/from CAK, an 8 percent increase compared to 2009.
