Traveling this holiday? LOTS of folks are. So, planning ahead can save you time and hassle. To help you prep, we offer these tips:

Arrive at CAK at least 2 hours before your trip. We are expecting a full house over the holiday weekend, so build in a little more time than normal to reach your gate.

Green, OH: Oh say can you see…Washington D.C.? Oh yes you can! Southwest Airlines (NYSE: LUV) launched new nonstop service to Ronald Reagan National (DCA) from Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) on November 2nd! The daily nonstop flight is aboard Southwest’s comfy Boeing 737-700 jet. The safety, security and comfort of our passengers is our number one priority at the Akron-Canton Airport. Our operations and management personnel have been in dialog with the Summit County Health Department regarding proper procedures and protocols for dealing with infectious diseases, including Ebola. The Summit County Health Department, our long-time partner in public health issues, referred us to the CDC guidelines for airports and airlines, which we are reviewing and implementing as appropriate. At this point, all our work is precautionary, preliminary and preemptive.

Green, Ohio: The Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) updated elected officials and community leaders about the airport’s Master Plan, Sustainability Study, and Part 150 Noise Study this morning at an elected officials coffee hosted by President and CEO, Rick McQueen. Green, OH: Hooray! Southwest Airlines (NYSE: LUV) began new nonstop service to Tampa, Florida yesterday from Akron-Canton Airport (CAK). The 7:30 a.m. departure was aboard a comfy Southwest Boeing 737. Tampa is the latest AirTran destination to convert to Southwest at CAK, as part of the integration of the two carriers.
