Every three years, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) mandates that we practice our response to an aircraft emergency at the airport. Back in 1983 at our first drill, there were only three participating agencies- the airport, the city of Green (Green Township at the time), and the Summit county sheriff's department. Growth. It is what we are committed to at CAK. A thriving airport creates economic opportunity for its community and region. That's why we are moving ahead with CAK 2018, our $110 million capital improvement plan, adding new routes and working with other regional stakeholders to develop new business parks that will attract high paying jobs to our area.
We are also growing our outreach to customers. We are making it easier than ever to connect with CAK. You can follow us on Twitter...

It is something we've worked on for more than a decade.
Our celebration of the new flight included many of the community and government...

The holiday season is my favorite time of year. I am reminded of the many blessings that have come our way in 2008- rolling out CAK2018, a comprehensive 10-year capital improvement plan; celebrating the half way point for our runway 5/23 extension; record breaking passenger levels this summer; and to top the list, new nonstop flights to DC!
We also celebrated the many achievements of Fred Krum, my mentor and CAK visionary for more than 30 years. Fred retired at the end of September....
