CAK Connections

In this issue: What the US Airways/American merger means for CAK, code sharing on Southwest, CAK is still affordable and more flights to Florida.

Rick McQueen

The airline industry certainly is dynamic.  We've seen a lot of consolidation in the industry; most recently with the announcement that US Airways plans to merge with American Airlines, if the deal is approved by the federal government. Sky high fuel prices, a weak economy and stronger route networks have driven consolidation.

US Airways is our 3rd largest carrier, offering exceptional access to points across the globe. Their 40 year track record at CAK generates hope that this marriage could, a couple of years down the road, mean some growth to new markets for our Customers. For now, nothing at all changes. Same great flights. Same great destinations.

What we know for sure is that a healthy airline industry is important for a healthy U.S. economy. So, here is to hoping that this merger helps keep the industry strong.

US Airways merger
US Airways and American Airlines plan to merge,  creating the world's biggest airline, if the Feds agree that it's a good idea.

For now, nothing changes. You can continue to fly US Airways to Washington D.C. (Reagan National), Charlotte and Philadelphia, three great destinations that connect you to the globe.

We'll keep you updated along the way but if you want to know even more, check out this website

CAK airfare STILL the lowest
CAK is still one of the most affordable airports in the U.S. In the recent US Department of Transportation, Bureau of Transportation Statistics, for 3rd quarter 2012, CAK ranked the 16th cheapest airport out of the country's 100 largest airports. We love saving you money. Cha-ching!

More Florida, more sun!
Florida is called the sunshine state for good reason. And, CAK has more daily flights to Ft. Myers, Tampa and Orlando than ever before. Get over to to book your low fare - and drink in the warm breezes and bright sunny days of Florida.
