What's Going on Here? Parking expansion at Akron-Canton Airport

WHAT IS IT? Construction at Akron-Canton Airport adjacent and to the south of the long-term parking lot.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN? The $2.5 million project will add about 400 parking spaces, increasing capacity by 15 percent. Airport President and CEO Rick McQueen said parking will be increased in phases, eventually adding about 1,000 spaces and increasing capacity by 50 percent. McQueen said the $7 million in parking improvements will be done over several years.

Akron-Canton Airport sets monthly passenger traffic record in July

The old saying is that records were made to be broken, but Akron-Canton Airport has taken the maxim to the extreme.
Akron-Canton said 154,772 customers traveled to or from the airport during the month of July, which bettered the monthly record that the 64-year-old airport had set just the month before.
Compared to July 2010, the airport hosted nearly 8,000 more passengers this July for a 5.4% increase, while also beating June's 151,115 passenger traffic by 2.4%.

Akron/Canton Airport (CAK) surpassed 25,000 Facebook fans today, and the airport's SVP of Fun Kristie Van Auken thanked the fans in her unique, upbeat style with–what else?–a Facebook video.
