The bustling Akron-Canton Airport has become an unexpected gallery space for area artists, thanks to ArtsinStark and the Akron Area Arts Alliance.
Their collaborative effort, “Art at the Airport,” offers visual artists from Stark and Summit counties the opportunity to reach a new national audience.
“It’s gotten a good response already. I sold a piece within a few days of it being (displayed) there,” said Tim Carmany, a Canton-based artist. An airport visitor from Cleveland purchased his portrait on glass of Audrey Hepburn.
