October is a month of looking back and looking ahead. Looking back, I feel very pleased with our progress this year. We added nonstop flights to Washington Reagan National Airport aboard US Airways, made great headway on our runway extension, added two new fire trucks, added thousands of Facebook fans and eagarly look forward to resuming flights to Ft. Myers and Ft. Lauderdale in November.
Looking forward, we are searching for ways to reduce costs and engage in new innovative partnerships to help our region be on the leading edge of pulling out of the global recession. It is a big list but important to our future.
Also, if you are as interested as I am in the progress of our Runway 5/23 extension, have a look at this video I shot during the first day of paving. We are eager to get the job done, so airlines can fly anywhere in the US, Canada or Mexico from CAK.
