TEMPE, Ariz., Jan. 12, 2009 - Beginning Jan. 25, US Airways (NYSE:LCC) customers in northeast Ohio will have a new, nonstop link to Washington, D.C., thanks to US Airways Express service from Akron-Canton Airport to Washington's preferred business and leisure airport Ronald Reagan Washington National. Flights will operate daily by US Airways Express carrier Air Wisconsin using 50-seat CRJ200 jet aircraft.
"We're excited to offer this new option to our customers in Northeast Ohio. This service nicely compliments existing US Airways' non-stop service to Charlotte, N.C. and Philadelphia. We're sure customers will enjoy the convenience and location of Reagan National whether they travel for business or leisure," said US Airways Director of Express Planning Jason Reisinger.
"We are so thrilled that the US DOT granted slots to US Airways to commence our first ever nonstop flight to Washington Reagan National Airport," said CAK President and CEO, Rick McQueen. "It is a vital link for our civic and business leaders who need to directly connect with decision-makers in our nation's capital. We consider this a big win for the region."
