The holiday season is my favorite time of year. I am reminded of the many blessings that have come our way in 2008- rolling out CAK2018, a comprehensive 10-year capital improvement plan; celebrating the half way point for our runway 5/23 extension; record breaking passenger levels this summer; and to top the list, new nonstop flights to DC!
We also celebrated the many achievements of Fred Krum, my mentor and CAK visionary for more than 30 years. Fred retired at the end of September. I am reminded of the many good times, the crazy ideas, the sacrifices and the successes that we shared. He put our airport in a position to win and as the new leader of this incredible asset, I am incredibly thankful for all he did. Lastly, I am grateful to report to a wonderful board of trustees and to lead a dedicated team of employees that help keep CAK a better way to go.
From all of us at CAK, we would also like to thank you for another wonderful year. We couldn't have done so much without the support of travelers from throughout the region. Here's to another fantastic year in 2009.
