Green, OH: Passengers throughout Northeast Ohio are continuing to discover why the Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) is a better way to go, and it shows.

Almost 130,000 travelers used CAK in October 2007; a 13 percent increase compared to the same month last year when nearly 115,000 travelers passed through. The previous record for October was in 2005 when 122,000 passengers used CAK.

"Thank you Northeast Ohio for making this our best October on record," said Fred Krum, airport director. "Customers from throughout the region find our low fares and low stress experience are worth a bit longer drive to get here. And, we will save you, on average, 30 minutes once you arrive with our close parking and shorter lines. Low fares and low stress make Akron-Canton Airport, a better way to go."

Every airline carrier at Akron-Canton Airport saw an increase in passenger traffic in October including AirTran Airways and Frontier Airlines; with an 8 percent and 20 percent increase in passengers respectively. AirTran Airways moved more than 58,000 passengers in October. The low cost juggernaut also added non-stop service to Las Vegas (its seventh non-stop destination) from CAK in August. Frontier Airlines was voted the Best Low Cost Carrier in the U.S. by the readers of "Business Travelers Magazine" for 2007. Delta Connection, United Express, Northwest Airlink, and US Airways Express all recorded double digit gains.
