After a six and a half week recovery from brain surgery, I am glad to report that I am back in the saddle part-time at CAK. Just as I had suspected, things have been just singing at the airport. We continue to make great progress on the runway extension, AirTran Airways started nonstop service to Las Vegas on August 15, and we are delighted to welcome a new airport trustee, Steve Oakland from The J.M. Smucker Company.
We remain steadfast in our commitment to offer the most relaxing airport passenger experience around. Even with the crush of passengers during the Pro Football Hall of Fame induction weekend and the Bridgestone Invitational golf tournament, our lines were short, our terminal clean and our spirits high. There really isn't anything better than welcoming guests from out of the region to experience what northeast Ohio has to offer.
If you took a trip from CAK this summer, we thank you. We hope your experience was fantastic and we hope you’ll come back soon. See you at the airport.
