Sunny the final AirTran Airways' Teal Flamingo found today at the Akron-Canton Airport baggage claim

Green, OH:The final AirTran Airways' lost teal flamingo is on its way back to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida after being found today at the Akron-Canton Airport in a very colorful tropical looking bag. Sunny was rescued by Kelly Hall of Wadsworth at 12:05 p.m. EST.Sunny and her three teal-feathered friends Sandy, Shiny and Shelly got lost last week, apparently confused by the balmy Ohio winter weather. Sunny's return to the airport caps an exhaustive weeklong search for the four wayward birds.

AirTran Airways and Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) peppered Northeast Ohio with 3,000 pink plastic yard flamingos -- along with four teal misfits -- as a tribute to the airline's nonstop routes between Akron-Canton and Ft. Lauderdale (new!), Ft. Myers, Tampa and Orlando. Four lucky grand-prize winners, who found the teal flamingos, won a set of tickets on AirTran Airways. Sunny will return to Ft. Lauderdale, AirTran Airways' latest nonstop destination from CAK, first thing tomorrow morning. The pink flamingos will fly the coop too.

"This has been a really fun contest," said airport marketing & communications director Kristie VanAuken. "Hundreds of flamingo seekers logged on to AirTran.com to join the fun. Needless to say, weary northeast Ohio travelers have been duly reminded of the sun, sand and excitement awaiting them in Florida; and the best way to get there nonstop from Akron-Canton Airport is aboard AirTran Airways."

The Akron-Canton Airport and AirTran Airways would like to extend thanks to the following partners who truly helped to make the FlaminGO Promotion fly: Akron Aeros, the City of Canton, the City of Akron, Canton Cultural Arts Center, Canton Art Museum, Pro Football Hall of Fame, Cleveland CVB, Cleveland Arcade, Wolstein Center at Cleveland State University, Lock 3 Live, Hilton Garden Inn, Akron Beacon Journal, John S.
