New Fort Myers Airport

I’ve had the extreme pleasure of using the Fort Myers (RSW) flight between Akron-Canton and Florida over the last couple of weeks. The new Fort Myers Airport is big and beautiful and much easier to use then the old one. I must say though that it took longer than necessary to go through screening as the TSA folks were real stingy with the gray tubs and the Burger King on B Concourse doesn’t handle crowds well. The flight is always packed. If you want to meet friends from the Northeast Ohio area just hop on this flight, you’ll be sure and see someone you know every time.

On the construction front, everyday we get closer to opening the new second level concourse. I know you’ll be very excited to see and use it come the first of May. I’m looking forward to using the new Arby’s in the new gate area. Great healthy menu choices!

Out front of the Airport we’re working with ODOT and the City of Green to tweak the traffic lights to help traffic flow a little better. The new interchange is a great improvement but we think it can still work a little bit better. Look for the right hand land on northbound Lauby Road to become a continuous right turn only lane on to Interstate 77.

Yes its a great airport. I have been there twice and LOVED it. Its so roomy and nice with the food and news but its really isn't anywhere close to the congestion we used to have out there.

Nice airport....I flew it to it on USAIR and USA3000.
