Joe Leonard of AirTran Airways

We had Joe Leonard, Chairman and CEO of AirTran Airways in town on Wednesday and Thursday, March 15 and 16 for the Greater Akron Roundtable Luncheon. Joe’s presence at the Roundtable underscores the special relationship between AirTran and the Akron-Canton Airport. I got to spend some time with Joe on Wednesday night and had a chance to pick his brain about the fast changing airline industry. When you’re the Chairman and CEO of one of only two airlines that have been profitable for the last seven years, your opinion is a very respected one and I felt privileged to spend some face time with the “Big Guy” at AirTran.

Our community is so fortunate to have them serve us. We literally are the envy of all airports our size in the country. They offer one of the best products in the industry and are the low fare leader in Northeast Ohio!
