Ho, Ho, Ho, Ho, Ho to all!
Posted on 12/20/2007
'Tis the season for all of us to count our blessings. But, it's also a great time to start future travel plans. Keep your eyes posted early January. Airlines need cash early in the year just like all of us, and many times fare sales appear right after the holidays. It's best to get signed up on airline websites so you get notices of sales automatically. That's also where you'll find your best deals. If you can be somewhat flexible on dates, you'll find some great values out there. Happy hunting!
On another note, ski season is in full swing out west. I recently returned from a short vacation in Snowmass and wow! did they have snow! It was fabulous! Frontier announced that their new Lynx commuter service should be in full swing soon. So there might be some great deals for spring skiing packages coming up. Delta happened to be my carrier of choice for my recent trip, and I can't say enough about their employees. They were all pleasant and helpful.
My travels took me through several airports, where I constantly looked for new ideas. Please feel free to send any ideas through our website that you might observe at other facilities. I'll be glad to check them out.
And, last, but not least, for all our Ohio friends, "Gooooooo Bucks!"
Happy Holidays to all! Thanks for using CAK!

What An Opening!

The grand opening of the completely remodeled Marriott Courtyard Hotel at Belden Village took place the other night with all you'd expect from a quality operation. The staff did a marvelous job and the food was spectacular! The complete remodeling of rooms, as well as common space, is truly another jewel for the area. Pro Football Hall of Fame staff was on hand, as well, to welcome another quality lodging facility for their great weekend. The Courtyard will have courtesy buses to and from CAK for our customers. It has 150 rooms and can accommodate boardroom-type meetings and large groups as well. There's a spacious workout facility and a brand new indoor pool and spa. We welcome them to Stark County!
The Hilton Garden Inn at Akron-Canton Airport, which also is a beautiful jewel close to our facility, has just announced the addition of flight monitors for the customer's convenience. They have regular courtesy buses and add the convenience of a full-service restaurant from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. weekdays, if you're looking for an alternative eatery.
We are thrilled to have both of these hotels available to our business customers and for those who travel from afar to fly from CAK. Give them a try!

The Holiday Season Is Fast-Approaching!

Relax, give yourself enough time!
It's been awhile, so forgive my absence. The holiday season is fast approaching and in fact, the last several weeks here at CAK have been extremely busy. Remember to give yourself adequate time to check in with your carrier, as well as time to go through security. On Monday and Friday mornings, we have had a few 20 minute waits from approximately 5:00 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. We understand that this seems like a long time considering that usually 3 to 5 minutes is common, but we have numerous departures during this timeframe. Our three security lanes are processing over 600 people per hour during those time periods. And, some of our customers forget liquids need to fit in containers of 3 ounces or less, and also must fit in a quart-size bag. If everyone would remember the new rules, it would speed the process. No one likes waiting. But, those big comfortable jets do carry more passengers, and when they all tend to leave at the same time in the morning, sometimes it takes a few more minutes. We recommend arriving at the airport one and a half hours before departure. That way you'll have ample time to get it all done and also enjoy a relaxing cup of coffee or Arby's breakfast past the security checkpoint.
As an added bonus for our busy customers, you can now get Flu or Pneumonia shots from QuickClinic, located across from our Subway Restaurant. Flu shots are $30.00 and Pneumonia shots are $45.00. Their hours of operation are from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. every day. We hope that you'll take advantage of this convenient opportunity.
Have a great weekend!

Passports !

It's time for passports again!
Just a reminder to everyone that, as of today, the October 1 extension deadline for the passport requirements does not look like it's going to be extended. So for those of you who might have fall cruises or trips planned to Canada, Mexico, Bermuda or countries in the Caribbean region, you will need a passport. This might be the time to check on where your application is in the pipeline!
One last great piece of news! Shuffel Road is rumored to be opening as I type; can't wait to try it out!
