How about Frontier Airlines? Time to Ski

Posted on 09/08/2006

It’s hot off the press; Frontier Airlines just announced that they are buying something like 20 Bombardier Q 400 turboprop airplanes to increase their reach in ski country. CEO Jeff Potter, speaking to The Denver Post, stated that they have decided to, next year, start flying to some of Colorado’s great ski locations, including Vail and Aspen.

Wow, won’t that be great? Think of getting a flight right from Akron-Canton Airport and hooking up in Denver and flying to Vail. The name of their new service will be Lynxs. Those wonderful animals will definitely be on the tail as well. These airplanes will have approximately 74 seats and will be the latest and greatest versions of turboprops. Potter states that unlike older turboprops, these are very quiet and have far less vibration then those of the past. From other articles I have read these modern airplanes will be making a come back because of their fuel efficiency for short hops. Frontier decided that within 500 to 650 miles of Denver that there was a great opportunity to expand their great service.

Being a skier myself, I for one will not miss those bus trips up into the Great Rocky Mountains. Plus I’m sure they will have some great family ski packages put together as well. While we are on the subject of skiing, there are some great rates right now for those looking at going out West in December. Check out www.FrontierAirlines.com and book that trip now! Here’s  too great connections in ski country!

And for those who love them like I do; How about those Buckeyes? Go Bucks! Revenge is in store for Texas!
