Get Down to Akron-Canton Airport
Posted on 02/09/2007
We had a blast last night in Oberlin! It was our first sponsorship of a CoolCleveland.com event. There were at least 200 people there noshing on yummy heavy appetizers, sipping wine, eating huge brownies and listening to great tunes (all before The Lost Highway even started).
We handed out tee shirts with the “big airports suck… the wind right out of you” slogan and gave away a great trip to New York City to see the same production at Columbia University at the end of the month (courtesy of AirTran Airways who flies nonstop to the big apple and Cool Cleveland).
What was most cool about the evening though, was that a lot of these trendy partiers have never flown from Akron-Canton. I know I know it’s hard to believe… but it’s true! Why do I think that is cool? Because we were able to have one-on-one conversations with these potential customers about what makes a travel experience from CAK so unique and relaxing. Let me just say that there was a lot of head nodding going on after our little chats.
There will definitely be more partying with the CoolClevland.com team as our partnership is off to a great start!

Happy New Years to my neighbors out at Akron/Canton. Continue the tremendous work you do at your airport. Most airports are jealous of how well you have grown in just a 10 year span, and will continue growing in the future. I have flown it 10+ times in the last couple years, and will continue using it.
Right now my coalition of Airport Supporters are trying to help out the struggling Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport. They have done a successful job with flights to Orlando aboard Allegiant Air (ALGT-Nasdaq), but they have not done much since then.
YNG needs to look at how well CAK has done over the years and perhaps take some tips from you guys. You run a very successful operation and should be commended for IT! You earn my award for the best airport in Ohio and the best operation of any government funded operation in the region.
GOOD LUCK IN 2007!
