Fort Lauderdale – Another Great AirTran Niche

AirTran Airways and Akron-Canton Airport will begin daily non-stop service to Ft. Lauderdale effective January 4th. This is the first time we have had daily non-stop service to this region of Florida with the exception of Saturday only service last year.

This new service connects us to a huge population stretching from the Keys to Miami up to Boca Raton and West Palm Beach! This area of Florida is only sparsely served on a non-stop basis today. There is only 1 flight daily to Fort Lauderdale from Cleveland and only 11 weekly non-stops to Miami and 7 of those are on regional jets! Ughh! That’s too far to ride an RJ.

As usual the fares will be great; after all it’s AirTran, the low fare leader in Northeast Ohio.I’m sure the followers in Cleveland will match the fares but we all know why. The service is being introduced as seasonal, running from January to May but I think that we can prove that the service would be supported year round, based on business connectivity between our area and Southeast Florida.

As for now, we can boast service to Florida’s 4 most important destinations, Ft. Lauderdale, Ft. Myers, Tampa, and Orlando! The big 4! Thanks for your support.Every time you fly from CAK it’s the equivalent of a vote, a vote to support and grow air service from CAK. Thanks for your support and thanks for your vote!

Lets keep those Ohio - Florida flights coming....

after all, there are now more Ohioans living in Florida than are left living in Ohio!!!!

Hello from Central Europe :) I am back in France to finish my Masters and hopefully specialize in airport management :)

I think United would be the best horse for DC. They already serve ORD with United Express, now they should add DC as it would open up alot of new connection opportunities for international passengers such as my self (IAD serves many cities in Europe including Paris)

Of course Chicago does too... But kind of the opposite direction of Europe... If you know what I mean ;) Though on a positive note, you'd get more miles credited lol

Keep the show rockin' CAK!

A tres bientot,

William

That is really great! It is really cool being able to fly on AirTran's spacious jets to four different locations in Florida now. Also, I think a really popular new route would be CAK to Washington D.C. I think United could do it, or even AirTran. Keep up the good work!
