Delta MD-88 is back at CAK
Big “D” is back in town. I saw the big beauty flying overhead as I was pushing my son on the swing at noon today.
Of course, Delta brought back the mainline jet to compete with AirTran’s four daily big jet flights to Atlanta. That isn’t necessarily a bad thing though. Flight options from Delta’s Atlanta hub are impressive. You can connect to Europe, Asia, Central and South America and just about any place else from there; and the Delta planning folks tell me that CAK business is brisk. That is good news!
It is also a signal that the economic climate in Northeast Ohio is improving. Big jets typically go to cities with a big market. So, welcome back Big “D”! Let’s fill up some airplanes.

I will avoid DELTA if at all possible. They are not honest with passengers about delays, their equipment is defective and they do not have enough ground support to assist preperations of aircrafts.I recently had a bad experience with DELTA on July 25th about a delay from Atlanta.

Looks like they are only doing this through November. It appears that the Md-88 Delta flight 1233 will be replaced by a codeshare with Shuttle America on an Embraer jet by December. They aren't even giving it enough time to see if it works!
