Whether it’s seeing the new World War II Memorial for the first time or getting an up close view of Dorothy’s ruby slippers at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History, everyone has their own itinerary for when it comes to their “dream day” in Washington, D.C and Akron-Canton Airport and US Airways are about to make this dream come true for one lucky winner in the 2009 “Dream Day in DC” contest.
This is your opportunity to tell us what your dream day would be like in our nation’s Capital. Whether it’s a tour of our Nation’s historic monuments, a visit to the National Gallery of Art, or dining at your favorite local DC restaurant, tell us about your dream day and we will work to make it happen.
ESSAY CRITERIA:
Submit an essay of 500 words or less, detailing what you would do if you had a “dream day in Washington DC.” Let your imagination run wild; we want to hear about your “dream day” so list the specific activities/events that make up your individualized, one-day itinerary. Even though the inauguration is already sold out, and unfortunately the airport can not arrange for a face-to-face meeting with the new President-elect - we can give you a day of fun and memories in DC and work to make your special day become a reality!
Participants must be able to depart for their dream day on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009 at 6:20 a.m. and will return to CAK at 9:20 p.m. the same day.
Your dream day includes:
- Air Fare on the INAGURAL (1/25/2009) flight to and from CAK to DCA aboard US Airways for the winner and one guest (must travel ON this date)
- $100 in cash to be used towards transportation and daily expenses.
- A FLIP video camera to document your dream day
- Your individualized, one-day itinerary - detailed by you and fulfilled by us!
All essays must be submitted by Jan. 20, 2009. Winners will be notified by Wednesday, January 21, 2009. And must depart on Sunday Jan 25, 2009
