CAK Meets With Pinecreek

Posted on 03/23/2006

On Tuesday Evening March 14th, the Airport Authority Management Team and our consultants held an Open House with the residents of Pinecreek and surrounding areas. The Open House was held to update the neighbors about the Runway 5/23 Safety Upgrade and Lengthening Project. About 20 neighbors attended. As an Airport Director, I am grateful to live in a community with neighbors who address their concerns to us in such a constructive manner. While not everyone is thrilled with what we are doing, the environment of mutual respect for each other helps us work through the important issues at hand.

The Runway improvements probably won’t be done for 5-7 years but they are critical to the future of the Airport in positioning us for the future. My guess is that after we’re done that our runways should carry us through the next 20 years.
