Cool new things at CAK

Posted on 10/26/2009 by Kristie VanAuken

Everyone wants to know, how do I save money NOW on my air fare? Well, our very own CAKElizabeth has begun Money Saving Mondays on our Facebook fan page. Every week, she will choose one hot CAK destination and post a great fare. Now, you will have to move quickly to take advantage of her great find, because seats are always limited at bargain basement prices.

Also, don't forget that AirTran Airways is commencing nonstop flights to Ft. Lauderdale and...

Columbus Day is a REAL holiday

Posted on 10/09/2009 by Kristie VanAuken

As I visited ticket counters this morning, I noticed that daily bookings were really high. Delighted, I began to brainstorm with the airline ticket agents about why we were so darn busy. Then it hit me…Columbus Day!

Next Monday we celebrate the arrival of Christopher Columbus, who sailed the ocean blue in 1492, and arrived somewhere near the US, a Bahamian Island I believe. Eventually the three Spanish ships reached America and I guess that was our lucky day. I feel doubly lucky about Columbus...

A wild week at CAK

My favorite part of the event though was the TKG Social lounge. Party-goers live tweeted, posted to our Facebook fan page and played Wii games all night long. It was...

I can hardly believe that it has been eight years since the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon; arguably the worst calamity ever wrought upon thousands of innocent Americans.

I remember the American Airlines' pilots sitting in Fred's office, the hundreds of stranded travelers in our conference rooms, and the sad yet steadfast media trying to report on the tragedy.

I also fondly remember the outpouring of support from friends and neighbors who offered help to stranded passengers here at

CAK Celebrates Arrival of Rescue 10 & 11

Posted on 09/01/2009 by Kristie VanAuken

We had another celebration at CAK today (press release). Now, you may think we are crazy, but when cool things happen…or in this case, cool trucks come, it is cause for celebration.

Todd Laps (our fire chief and security guru) like a proud papa, took delivery of Rescue 10 and 11 just within the last month. These babies are only delivered once every sixteen years or so, so that is why this is such a big deal.

The new Rosenbauer Panther 6x6...
