I can hardly believe that it has been eight years since the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon; arguably the worst calamity ever wrought upon thousands of innocent Americans.
I remember the American Airlines' pilots sitting in Fred's office, the hundreds of stranded travelers in our conference rooms, and the sad yet steadfast media trying to report on the tragedy.
I also fondly remember the outpouring of support from friends and neighbors who offered help to stranded passengers here at
CAK Celebrates Arrival of Rescue 10 & 11

We had another celebration at CAK today (press release). Now, you may think we are crazy, but when cool things happen…or in this case, cool trucks come, it is cause for celebration.
Todd Laps (our fire chief and security guru) like a proud papa, took delivery of Rescue 10 and 11 just within the last month. These babies are only delivered once every sixteen years or so, so that is why this is such a big deal.

Frontier Airlines is Important to CAK

I remember vividly Frontier Airlines' (Jack the rabbit was on the tail) inaugural landing at this airport. It was a windy, overcast day but that didn't sour our spirits at all. Our two fire trucks were at the ready; waiting to form a water arch for the Airbus 319 to taxi through on their way to the gate.
More than 50 VIPs, media cameras, and CAK employees were there to welcome Jack, Paul Tate (Canton native and former Frontier Airlines CFO)...

Times are tough out there. You know what I mean, the economy, global warming, wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the list goes on and on. Well, there is a ray of light shining on our airport and our region. AirTran Airways posted a $78.9 million profit for the second quarter despite lagging demand and lower air fares.
