What makes an airport an important or even vital part of the community? There are lots of ways to measure an airport’s impact- jobs, access to domestic and international networks, nonstop flights, international access, intermodal connectivity and in our case, lots of low fares.
For the past 15 years, we have guessed at the level of air fare savings generated by AirTran and Frontier from CAK. We knew it would be a big number but we had no idea we had saved...

So things are off to a dang good start at CAK in 2012. The best news comes from Southwest Airlines who recently announced that CAK is on their network for good. Topping my list are family, healthy kids and faithful husband, incredible friends who support me, dynamic work, and the opportunity (really it’s a privilege) to give back to this incredible community.
All of us at Akron-Canton Airport are grateful to our Customers who continue to express their love for our low fares and a fantastic airport experience. So, back at’cha! Here are a...

We unwittingly unleashed a firestorm last week.
So, here’s how the whole thing came down. We get word from LeBron James’ advance team that he has a personal flight from Akron-Canton Airport. Because he is a celebrity and a superstar, we wanted to welcome him. Akron is his hometown after all. So, CAK is his hometown airport. We feature all sorts of celebs on our Facebook wall because our fans find them interesting (and so do we!).
LeBron arrived in a black...
