I was in LA last week during the earthquake. Yup, I was in my hotel room on the 8th floor when the building began to rumble. Fortunately, the Omni is designed perfectly to withstand a 5.8 quake and you would have never known 5 minutes after it happened, that an earthquake had hit the place at all.
What was I doing in LA? Well, Elizabeth and I were attending the NBTA National Conference and Exhibition. That's where all of the nation's largest corporations send...

Its official: our airfares are cheap. The Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) rolled out first quarter 2008 fares for the top 100 airports in the United States. Yup, Akron-Canton Airport made the list and once again, our airfares are the lowest in the State of Ohio. They have crept up a bit, but that isn't all bad news. My friend Pat Rowe at Mitchell Airport in Milwaukee has done it again! I recently read a story about their "recombobulation" area at MKE. Hee hee. What a stroke of genius. Pat and team actually named the space where you can put your belt and shoes back on,...

My friend Ron DeBarr, Executive Director of NEOTEC, sent me a list of innovative ideas to solve the current fuel crisis. Pedal power was just one solution. Recycling French fry fat was another, but alas, it won't power an airplane either.
There is not doubt that new thinking is needed to address the crazy price of fuel. I personally have been driving slower (a good thing, I know) and riding my bike to cardio-tennis on Saturday mornings. This whole fuel thing has me...

Ok folks, I am back from Pittsburgh ready to report on my trip. First, the Hilton Downtown is an utter mess. Literally every floor is under construction. Elizabeth wondered why the front desk staff didn't issue a respirator to every gust upon check-in. That would have certainly helped minimize the dust in my lungs upon checkout.
Anyway, the rest of the conference was wonderful. We were able to hook up with 12 airlines and chat up CAK and Cleveland+. I got a little good...
