FAA mandated disaster drill a success
Posted on 05/05/2009 by Kristie VanAuken
I just participated in the mother of all disaster drills at CAK. More than 400 emergency response personnel and volunteers gathered at CAK last Wednesday. Our goal: to test our coordinated effort to effectively and efficiently respond to a big disaster.
Todd Laps, our manager of all things safety and security, did an excellent job of pulling together 50 agencies from throughout the greater Akron/ Canton area to respond to a mock emergency. He worked closely with Summit and Stark county
Representative Boccieri visits CAK

Representative John Boccieri and Chris and Jessica from his staff just visited with Rick and me here at the airport. It was a wonderful visit!

His family was absolutely steadfast throughout Fred's entire illness, never once giving up hope that they could prolong his incredible life or at the very least, add to the mounting data about how to cure brain cancer.
After the funeral, our new...
Cleveland+ Airports Working It
Posted on 02/26/2009 by Kristie VanAuken
I have had such an incredibly busy yet interesting two weeks! First, I was fortunate enough to attend the Routes air service conference in Cancun, Mexico. We want to learn about the viability of a federal inspection facility (customs) at CAK.
I found out that yes, we have potential to develop some vacation flying from CAK. Now we have to determine the timing of funding and facilities. More on this later.
Then, CAK was prominently featured in a USA Today article regarding...
