Let’s face it. Travel can be stressful, especially if you have little ones in tow. My kids are now old enough to wonder the concourse on their own…maybe even travel by themselves to visit relatives (13 and 11)… but I remember very clearly how hard it was to manage travel with toddlers.
Okay, I am biased but CAK is a great option for traveling families. We think carefully about how the airport experience feels from your car to the gate. Short lines, a...

Good ones can change the way you look at your business; your career. Well, we just wrapped up a good one here. Our #LUVCAK campaign was a colossal undertaking; coordinating with six community partners and one darn good airline. It was hard work, took nearly six months to launch, but was undoubtedly one of the high points of my career.

Southwest Airlines announced yesterday that they will begin two daily nonstops from Akron-Canton to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) on November 2, 2014. Last summer Rick and I got a visit from the leaders of our chambers and convention and visitors bureaus- Akron and Canton. What was on their mind? Making Southwest successful at CAK. For the past seventeen years, our chambers and business community had supported AirTran, making it the preferred airline for low fares and great destinations. During that time though, our leadership asked us repeatedly about Southwest. If AirTran could be so successful at CAK, what about Southwest?
Their desire to attract this world-class airline...

Sometimes there is a topic that you must write about and well, this is it for me. In 2011, Southwest Airlines® purchased AirTran Airways. Customers in northeast Ohio really, really like(d) AirTran. Come to think of it, what’s not to like: business class seating you can afford, comfy full-sized jets, nonstop flights to awesome destinations like Atlanta, Orlando, New York, Boston, Tampa and Ft. Myers.
CAK and AirTran grew up together. It was a good thing. No, it was a great thing. But as...
