Holiday Travel Tips to get you through CAK fast

Greetings from all of us at CAK! As we enter the holiday season and the rush to try to accomplish many things in the next five weeks, please keep this in mind when traveling:  reduce stress by arriving at the airport on time.

It’s amazing how much better you’ll feel if you plan on not cutting your arrival time  at the airport short. This time of year planes are usually 100% full which means if you miss your flight due to lack of planning it could be days till you get to your final destination, yes days. There just isn’t the capacity of seats that existed years ago. Airlines make money when their planes are full so they eliminated seats and airplanes from their inventory.

We recommend arriving at a minimum of 90 minutes before your departure at CAK, and that time would not include parking the car and getting to the terminal. Mornings from 4:30 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. are especially busy because of the outbound flights.

Checking bags, of course, takes more time and plan on having your carry-on bottles of fluid already packed in a quart size plastic bag and under 3 ounces each.

For those relying on others to take you to the airport, you might find it less stressful if you move your departure time back so that they don’t procrastinate getting you there. Remember it’s going to be you standing there stressed as the airline make the final boarding call and you’re still in the security line! We’ve all been there, but also keep in mind the times you’ve gotten there and had time to get a morning coffee, newspaper and enjoy stress-free travel.

Our partners, airlines, rental car companies, and all our wonderful employees at CAK wish you a pleasant, safe and STRESS FREE holiday season! Enjoy your travels and seeing family. We sincerely appreciate your business!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
