A Better Way To Go Akron Canton Airport

Frontier Airlines is Important to CAK

I remember vividly Frontier Airlines' (Jack the rabbit was on the tail) inaugural landing at this airport. It was a windy, overcast day but that didn't sour our spirits at all. Our two fire trucks were at the ready; waiting to form a water arch for the Airbus 319 to taxi through on their way to the gate.

More than 50 VIPs, media cameras, and CAK employees were there to welcome Jack, Paul Tate (Canton native and former Frontier Airlines CFO) and 132 passengers and crew to Northeast Ohio. It is what we live for in this business; bringing one of the finest, low-fare/ high quality carriers in the nation to our community. It was pure magic.

Frontier has spent the last 12-18 months restructuring itself; becoming even more competitive while never loosing sight of what makes it truly special. Now I'm not talking about the DirecTV or the extra leg room, although those are great benefits. What makes Frontier truly unique is the way the airline treats people- customers and business partners alike- and the value they provide to communities like ours. Before Frontier arrived, CAK had never had such excellent, low cost westbound service.

We are hoping for a positive outcome as Frontier exits bankruptcy. Ultimately, we are committed to preserving excellent westbound flights from CAK.
