Packing For Travel. . .

Packing for travel; Planning can save money!

With the majority of airlines now charging for bags over 50 pounds, as well as additional fees for more than one checked bag per passenger, you might want to reconsider what you pack. Planning can save you lots of money, and who wants to spend money checking bags before you've even gotten to your destination. My advice would be to pull out that old bathroom scale and check your luggage pieces prior to throwing them in the trunk. Be assured that the scales used by our carriers are certified by Summit County, so arguing at the ticket counter won't work. If you have the large bags, use them for the lighter weight items, such as clothes, and try to keep checked liquids in smaller containers instead of bringing enough shampoo for an army. The best place for heavier items such as shoes or beach towels might be in smaller suitcases, which prevent you from getting carried away. Remember the kids are entitled to their own bags, as well, so make sure you count their limits in your allotment. There's some great roller board bags out there for kids, and you might find that they enjoy having their loot in a carry-on; makes the time go faster in case of a spring thunderstorm delay as well.

Summer is right around the corner, thank goodness!  Yes, even Northern Ohio will have warm evenings soon!
