Benefit of Low Fare Carriers

AirTran Airways is the price leader in the Cleveland/Akron/Canton area. I was doing some random checking on the Internet websites of airfares in Cleveland, Akron, and Canton areas. Roundtrip airfare leaving May 23 returning May 24 from Akron-Canton to Boston on AirTran Airways is $123.00 before taxes. Continental charges the same price out of Cleveland at $123.00 before taxes. However, Continental charges $846.00 before taxes round trip to Philadelphia, a similar business market that is actually a closer destination than Boston. The reason for this is that AirTran is the fare leader in the Cleveland/Akron/Canton area and Continental is the follower. If AirTran were not flying to New York and Boston from the Akron-Canton Airport, you’d be paying the same high prices or even higher then your paying to go to Philadelphia. When you go to book your ticket to New York or Boston, remember who brought you the great price. It wasn’t Continental!

Actually, there would be no low fares in the Cleveland/Akron/Canton market if it weren’t for all the low fares carriers in the market. Besides http://www.airtran.com, there also are Frontier, America West, and Southwest. Without these four, Cleveland/Akron/Canton passengers would need a second mortgage to take a trip.

I know you AirTran's flight to RSW is seasonal as I am flying it very soon, is there plans to have it back in late 2006-2007 and will it ever be a year round route?

Thanks... Cheap fares are always the best, in 1 year I will fly from 4 different airports because of sub-$100 fares at each!

Keep it up
